5 Summer Date Ideas to Try

SoCal in the summer is a dream. The sunsets, beach breeze, and long days are unmatched (and perfect for a date night). Ryan and I have been trying out a few new date ideas this summer that I wanted to share! Sometimes date nights can feel a bit repetitive so I wanted to put together a list of summer date ideas for you + your partner to try!

01

Beach Picnic at Sunset

Is there anything more romantic than watching the sunset together? I’m all about an easy and laid back date situation and a beach picnic at sunset is great for those days that you want a more casual date night. I love packing a picnic basket with our favorite sandwiches or takeout meal and a bottle of wine. I always bring a large beach towel too so we avoid getting too sandy. This date idea is hassle free and probably one of Ryan and I’s favorites!

02

Saturday Farmers Market

A Farmers Market date is my love language… But seriously, I could spend all Saturday there if Ryan let me! If you’re in OC – we go to the Irvine Farmers Market. I’ve also heard that Laguna Beach has a great one as well! A Farmers Market date is the perfect time to grab flowers or produce for the week. I love just strolling through all the markets and spending the day out in the sun!

03

Backyard Movie Date

Nothing says date night like a movie! While I love going to the movie theatre, setting up a backyard movie date is just wayyy more cozy. All you need is a large blanket, some comfy pillows or bean bag chairs, a movie projector and you’re set! Of course, Ryan and I always make movie snacks too.

04

Taking a Cooking Class Together

There’s nothing more fun than learning a new recipe with your significant other! A cooking class is perfect because it gets you out of the house but it’s also an upgrade from your normal dinner date night out. Sur la Table has some really great cooking classes if you’re a local or visiting California!

05

Wine Tasting

I love a glass of red wine so any excuse for a wine tasting and I’m in… Booking a wine tasting is my ideal summer day date! If you don’t have any vineyards or wineries nearby, a mixology class is always a great idea too.
